Sub-committees and working
groups are essential to the Club's success. Over the
coming 'fiscal year' each member is encouraged to be
actively involved in one sub- committee or working group
The guidelines to determine roles of the sub-committee:
Marketing
To promote our services and build an understanding of the
needs and aspiration of potential members and clients and
others that we are targeting. This will help the
development of our service and the ways in which they are
accessed.
The Lignum Vitae Club
has several target Groups to whom it wishes to market
itself and its services.
Some of the means we
intend to use to promote ourselves are:
(i)Leaflets : These will be aimed primarily at potential
members.
(ii) Information Pack : These are intended mainly for
those with whom we have a professional relationship such
as sponsors.
(iii) Advertising: This is aimed mostly at recruiting
volunteers and members. We will determine the best media
use.
(iv) Personal Contact: Aimed to raise the profile and
build relationship and a clear understanding of the Club.
We will also do profiling of Jamaican women i.e. what age
are they, what do they do for a living, where do they
live, what do they do in their spare time and what are
their motivation and views about supporting charities.
(v) Website: The Club's most impactful media. A dynamic
team is needed to oversee its development as the club
changes and develops to meet its new objectives.
Membership/Fellowship:
The support we give should
appeal to the general membership as well as some
customised to individual needs
The aim is to widen the membership base and link this to
fundraising strategy.
Develop a structured network for the benefit of members.
Develop a structured program to enable the network to
provide mutual support to members and volunteers
Develop a skills bank to enable the Club to operate a lets
scheme for the benefit Members and the Club.
Develop a clear programme for volunteers outlining
benefits and opportunities
Provide support to enable individual members to stage
small scale fund raising events
Stimulate attendance of members and guests and make
arrangements for meetings.
Plans and executes a year-round program for enrolling new
members.
Maintains a strong program of education and involvement
for new members.
Finance:
Budget Modelling based upon plans to increase membership,
enhanced services to members and a structured fundraising
programme.
Plans and supervises the budget.
Researches and recommends fund raising projects.
Supervise financial reports and audits
Cost and presents packages of benefits to members
Program Coordinator:
Develops and executes plans to provide interesting
programs for the club
Plans social functions, facilities refreshments and guest
speakers
Greet members and guest
Plan visits for members
Promote attendance to social functions
Maintain contact with members and their families on
significant occasions.
Youth Activities: Determines plans and supervises projects to enhance
membership of young women.
Develop a strategy for establishing a membership group
between the ages of 18-25
Developing a mentoring programme for young members to
enable full participation in Club activities
Community Service:
Determine, plan and supervises a community involvement
programme. Develop opportunities for members to
participate in community projects developed locally and
internationally for the benefit of Jamaican communities.
